The REPORT
The last event of the summer series seen 20 of the hardy orienteers
turn up at Ormeau Park to pit their wits against the courses on
offer. Diminishing light after 8.30pm did result in some slower
times as the night progressed. However, everyone did manage to complete
their intended courses (I think ... )
I'm not proposing to calculate the WEE Series II positions this
time in line with the proposed formula - ie. handicapped times,
due to a number of different style events being used in the second
series, and also my lack of time at the moment (I still have to
pack my bags for tomorrow's plane!!!).
In summary, many thanks to all who organised an event over the
summer, and also to the many people who supported the events by
turning up. Don't forget there is regular training (not to strenuous!)
starting next Tuesday at 7.30 in the Belvoir Activity Centre. Everyone
is welcome and it would be nice to see a few new faces. We ususally
go for a 25 minute jog before hand which is then followed by 30minutes
gentle circuits, finishing with 30minutes of uni-hockey. Then it's
of to the pub to discuss the upcoming events and what ever else
is in the news ... Check with Bill about the exact time and location,
but I'm fairly sure the above is correct.
Don't forget to check out the fixtures list at www.orienteering.ie/lvo,
and also get your entry in for the NIOC early. Details at www.nioc2004.btinternet.co.uk
